Setting up your firewall for your internet radio station

In my early no-money needing days I started a bunch of fly-by-night internet radio shows for the hell of it. Some were hosted by me and some by others. At least, they tried. It seems all had firewall or router issues (explained in a minute) and did not know how to deal with it. And this was more than one friend. With more computers being in a single household at a time, routers are becoming very common. And that means they will block your internet radio unless you set it up. So here is how you do it.

Starting Your Own Internet Radio Station

One of the fun things a bedroom DJ (or even an established local DJ) can do is start their own internet radio station. With almost no money invested you can have your shows streamed to about 10-20 people, depending on your broadband connection. On top of that you can start a chat on AIM, MSN, IRC, or whatever you choose and start interacting with your listeners. This helps bring exposure as well as experience for the DJ.
